Foundation & Key Stage 1 (3-7 Years)
We are lively, enthusiastic and extremely busy classes where every day is exciting and
Our classes deliver the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and Key Stage 1 curriculum
to our youngest pupils. We appreciate that children learn and develop in
different ways and different rates, so we a have multisensory approach to learning where pupils
can engage and interact at their own level. We follow a structured timeline which is displayed in
the classroom preparing pupils for their day ahead and giving the pupils structure, routine and
the opportunity to comment on what they are participating in.
We cover the 7 strands of the EYFS through planned developmental play using work stations
around the classroom where adults are placed to encourage independent, spontaneous child initiated
learning. We also cover the Key Stage 1 National Curriculum through topic based activities and tasks
that recognise children’s interests and thirst for knowledge as they develop their understanding of
the world around them.
Outdoor learning is a key element of every child’s day and we enjoy sharing play times,
where children are encouraged to interact and communicate with each other through team games,
construction activities and using our vast range of bikes! We also particularly enjoy going to
the woodland area and multisensory garden where we allow the children freedom to explore their
natural environment and observe their surroundings.
Our pupils enjoy a link with a neighbouring primary school, where they are given the
opportunity to play and interact with their peers. We also enjoy out of school experiences
such as visiting our local fire station, Drayton Manor Park and Conkers.
Enjoy looking at these photographs of our busy and exciting classes.
